*When using Deco Color pens, make sure to shake the pens when they are capped and always test the pen on a scratch piece of paper.

Using the black Deco Color pen, make 2 small dots about halfway between the holes of the wooden bead making sure the holes are positioned vertically from each other. Let dry. Make 2 smaller dots over the 2 black dots using the white acrylic paint and a toothpick or something similar. Let dry. These are the eyes.

Using the red Deco Color pen, make a small dot below the eyes. Let dry. This is the mouth.

Using the black Deco Color pen, draw hair around the top portion of the bead. Let dry.

Geisha

Fold the rattail in half to find the center. Follow the diagrams to string the pony beads onto the rattail. Basically, you will be stringing beads onto one side of the rattail and then stringing the other end of the rattail through the beads in the opposite direction, or crossing through to make each row. In the instructions, the ends of the rattail are labeled red and blue to make it easier to follow the diagrams.

1) String 8 color B pony beads onto the red rattail. Take the blue rattail and string through the last 4 beads in the opposite direction so you end up with 2 rows of pony beads with 4 beads in each row. Each end of the rattail should be coming out from the beads on the opposite ends of the second row. The first and second rows are completed.

2) Take the red rattail and string on 4 color B pony beads.

3) Take the blue rattail end and cross through the pony beads in the opposite direction. The third row is completed.

4) Take the blue rattail and string on 4 color O pony beads.

5) Take the red rattail end and cross through the pony beads in the opposite direction. The fourth row is completed.

6) Take the red rattail and string on 1 color B, 1 color C, and 1 color B pony bead.

7) Take the blue rattail and cross through the pony beads in the opposite direction. The fifth row is completed.

8) Take the blue rattail and string on 1 color B, 2 color C, and 1 color B pony bead.

9) Take the red rattail and cross through the pony beads in the opposite direction. The sixth row is completed.

10) Take the red rattail and string on 9 color B pony beads.

11) Take the red rattail and string back through the 4th, 5th, and 6th pony beads in the opposite direction then string back through the 1st ,2nd, and 3rd pony beads in the opposite direction.

12) String on 3 more color B pony beads onto the red rattail and string back through the shoulder bead on the body. This forms the right sleeve.

13) Take the blue rattail and string on 9 color B pony beads.

14) Take the blue rattail and string back through the 4th, 5th, and 6th pony beads in the opposite direction then string back through the 1st ,2nd, and 3rd pony beads in the opposite direction.

15) String on 3 more color B pony beads onto the blue rattail and string back through the shoulder bead on the body. This forms the left sleeve.

16) Take the red and blue rattail and string on the head followed by 1 color H pony bead.

17) Tie a knot at the top of the color H pony bead. Tie another knot about 1” above the last knot. Cut off any excess rattail cord. Attach the split key ring into the loop.
