Directions:

Box Bottom instructions:

Start by stringing on a red bead to the center of the mono. String on 1 white bead onto the red tip, or A, and 2 white

beads onto the black, or B. Crossover A thru the last bead strung on B. You will now have this.

Add on 1 white bead to A and another onto b. Add another white bead onto A and crossover with B. Repeat once.

Then string onto A 3 white beads. Take B and cross thru the last bead you strung onto A. You will now have this.

Take B and add on 3 white. Cross thru the last bead you strung onto B with A.

String on 2 beads onto A. Pick up the B end and string thru the 2nd to the last top white bead from Row 1. Cross thru with

onto the last bead strung on A.

Add on 2 white beads onto B. Pick up A and go thru the next bead on top from Row 1 and cross thru last bead strung on B.

Add on 1 white onto A with B go thru the next white bead from top of Row 1 and add on a red bead then cross thru the

white bead strung on A.

To begin Row 3, add on a red bead to A and then 2 white beads. With B, cross thru last white bead strung on A.

Continue going thru top white beads from Row beneath and adding on as before. For each row, the left most bead

should be red*.

Continue doing this until you finish 15 rows completely. When you reach row 16, instead of adding on white beads

to the top as before, you will string thru the bottom beads from Row 1, connecting the beads from Row 1 and 15.

End by adding on a red bead and crossing over as usual. You completed the sides of the box. The red will be the 16th row.

Now you will work on the bottom using only red beads. Continuing from Row 16’s red bead, you will add on

2 red beads onto A. Go thru Row 1’s red bead with B and cross thru the last bead strung on A.

Repeat until you reach the bead from Row 3. With B, go thru red beads from Row 3 add on another bead.

With A go thru last bead strung on B.  Then bead from 4 and 5. Add a red bead then cross over with B.

Repeat twice, with B going into the red bead from Row 5 and so on working your way across to Row 15, down

to connect Row 14 and across to Row 7. With A add on a bead and cross thru with B as shown.

With B, go thru bead from Row 8 then 9’s bead then add on a bead. Pick up A then cross through bead just

strung on B and go thru 10. Continue doing this till you reach between 12 & 13 as shown. You will end with B

going thru Row 13’s bead and A going thru Row 12’s bead. Tie off and knot securely, leaving a 2” tail which

you’ll tighten and glue later. You just finished the bottom.

Lid Instructions:

Find the center of the monofilament and mark the end on the left side as B and the right side A. String on a green

bead onto A and 2 white beads. With B, string on a green bead and cross thru the last white bead strung on A.

Continue adding on a green bead to the left and repeating the pattern 2 more times.

With A, add on 2 green beads and then a white. With B, cross through the white bead and add on a green

then 2 white beads. Cross thru last white bead with A.

With B, cross thru 2nd white from the end of row above and add on a green bead. With A, add on a

green bead and cross thru the green bead strung on B.

With A, cross thru the next white bead from row above and add on a white bead. With B, add on a green

cross thru white bead last add on A.

With B, cross thru the first white bead from row above and add on green and then white bead. With A,

cross thru last bead strung on B. Then add on a green and 2 white beads. Cross thru last with B.

With A, cross thru next green bead from above row and add on a green bead. With B, add on a white B

then cross thru last bead green strung on A, go thru next green bead strung on above row and add on

a white bead. With A, add on a white bead then cross thru bead strung last on B.

With A, go thru next white bead from above row then add on a green then 2 white beads. With B, cross

thru first white strung on A then add on 2 green beads and cross thru last white bead strung on A.

Continue to add on green beads to the outer edges only and continue crossing thru above row beads,

inally ending with adding on 2 green beads to A then crossing thru the last strung on A with B. You should

have a square with a green diamond in the center and a green border around edge.

With ends still in hand, take A and add on 3 green beads. With B, cross thru last bead on A then add on 2

green beads. With A, go thru next green bead from above row then cross thru last bead from B. Continue

in this manner until you go thru beads from green border. This will be the lip of the lid.

With A, add on 2 green beads. Pick up B and go thru next bead from border, then go thru last bead strung

on A then go back into bead leaving a loop. With A, do the same, both loop each other. With B, cross back

thru next border bead. Continue on as before until you’ve done the last bead from border.

With B, go thru the remaining bead from border. After A crosses over with B, you will add on a green bead

to A then go thru the first bead added on when you began the lip of the lid. Knot A & B together. Can use

extra monofilament to go thru beads to strengthen & tighten lid.

TO FINISH: Take a 12” piece of monofilament and mark your ends as before. String on a red bead, then

with A, go through one of the green beads in the center of lid, then circle thru 2 white beads, then the

next green bead. Do the same with B. Knot with A.
