Directions

Cover outer sleeve of matchbox with the printed paper. Overlap the edges on the bottom and glue in place. Edges in and glue in place. Set aside. Place printed paper for lining inside of the box. The lining also goes up the sides. Glue in place. Slip covered sleeve over box and leave slightly open

Trace and cut out from felt the pieces for the ears according to the pattern. Place a small dot of glue on the edge of each circle and pinch to form a crease in the ears. Placing the ears side by side, glue the creased edge of each ear onto one of the pom poms for the head. Glue the eyes below the ears. Gather a short length of white crochet thread into a loopy bow and knot at the center. Cut loops apart and trim. Glue below the eyes for the mouse whiskers. Use the 1/8” hole punch and punch out a small circle from pink foamie. Glue on top of the enter knot of the whiskers for the nose. Glue head to the other white pom pom for the body.

Take just half of the chenille stem and roll into a spiral for the tail. Unroll a little and glue the straight end into the top third of the lined box, having the tail spiral out over the edge of the box. Place the mouse into the box next to the tail and glue in place. Close sleeve of matchbox up a little, leaving the mouse peeking out.

Tie the ends of the 1/8” ribbon together. Glue to the top back of the matchbox for an ornament hanger. Glue the 1/4” strip of white felt along the top of the red felt stocking. Glue stocking to the bottom corner of the matchbox sleeve. Use the marker to write a message on the sleeve like “Merry Christmas 2004” if you wish.
