Mini Scrapbook


2 1/2 x 4 1/2 Cardstock, your color choice
1 1/2 x 2 Printed Paper, coordinating
1/4 x 3/4 Sticky Velcro Black #500 6036
2 x 2 Gold Origami paper #7730 1366
8 of Metallic Gold Embroidery Floss #7750 2138
Double stick tape #3001 3283
2 x 10 1/2 Strip of lightweight paper for pages
Pin back #7712 6987 or #7740 3337
Low temp Glue gun and Glue sticks
Optional: Decorative paper edgers, gold ink pad



Trace and cut out form cardstock the pattern for the cover. With the piece lengthwise, measure 1-3/4 in from the straight edge. Crease well. This is the scrapbook cover. Fold the angle-cut edge towards the crease, overlapping the open edges. This will be your closure flap.

Take the 2 x 10-1/2 strip of paper. Measure along the strip lengthwise every 1-1/2. Accordian fold the strip, every 1-1/2. Open the cover of the scrapbook, leaving the small flap on the right side. Place two strips of double stick tape onto the first section of the strip of pages. Align the fold of the pages with the middle fold of the cover and adhere page to inside cover. Place two strips of tape onto the last section of the page strip. Align fold to the middle fold of the cover. Adhere last page to the inside cover of the scrapbook. Optional: You can tape the inner pages together to make a double thickness or leave open.

Tie the gold floss around the spine and centerfold of pages. Knot the floss on the outside spine. Trim edges of floss.

Close scrapbook keeping the small flap open on the right side for now. Center the 1-1/2 x 2 printed-paper on the closed cover of the scrapbook. Adhere with double stick tape.

Close small flap onto cover. Optional: Brush gold ink along the edges of the flap. Fold origami paper into a small crane. Attach crane to the top of the small flap. Attach sticky Velcro piece under flap and on the cover to keep the scrapbook closed when wearing it as a pin. Glue pin back behind scrapbook. Fill pages with tiny photos and sentiments

Optional: Use decorative edge scissors to make small strips of printed paper to adhere on the edges of the inside pages.
