Keiki Project

Supplies:

1 ¼” x 2 ¼” Green Cardstock for head and body

1” x 3” Green Cardstock for hands & feet

4 qty. ¼” x 8 ½” Green cardstock strips for arms & legs

½” x 1” White Cardstock for eyes

1” x 2” Green Cardstock for finger wrap

¼” Double Stick Tape #30013283

Black Sharpie Marker #91029

Tools:

Scissors

Directions:

Trace and cut out pieces from cardstock according to the patterns.

Place the white eyeballs near the top of one of the green circles and glue in place. Use the black sharpie marker to draw in the eyes on each and to draw a smile below. Place along the top edge of the other green circle and adhere. This makes the frog’s body and head.

Take one of the ¼” strips. Find the middle and fold at an angle so that it forms an “L” Now fold over each end of the strip on top of each other alternating the strips. You will begin to have a “springy” woven strip. Fold until you have at least four layers. Stop and tape ends together and trim off excess. On one end of the spring, place one of the frog’s hands and glue in place. Place the other end of the spring behind one side of the body just below the head. Glue in place. Repeat for the other side hand.

For the legs, fold the strips until you have at least six layers. Glue the feet to one end and glue the other end of the springs behind the body at the bottom.

Take the 1” x 2” piece of cardstock and wrap loosely around your index or middle finger. Tape the overlap together to form a tube. Adhere the tube behind the body. Slightly smash down the top of the tube over your finger for a better fit.
